The Western Canada Soccer Showcase and girlsCAN Soccer Development present the College Prep Seminar Series. The College Prep Seminars are aimed at female players who have aspirations of learning what it takes in the recruiting process to play college soccer in both Canada and the US, as well as other overseas opportunities after high school. The seminar series features lead speaker and Vancouver, BC native Ciara McCormack, co-author of the book, Winning a US College Scholarship, who played college soccer at Yale (undergrad) and the University of Connecticut (graduate school), before embarking on a professional career in both Denmark and Norway, where she currently plays for one of the top Norwegian clubs, Kolbotn IL. She also is a member of the Irish Women's National Team.

Joining Ciara in the different cities will be National Team player and former NCAA college coach Carmelina Moscato (Toronto), as well as Amelie Mercier, former UVic All-Canadian and current SFU coach and Candace Leibenzeder, who credits the information she gleaned at a College Prep Seminar in 2008 as playing a crucial role in her daughter Meagan winning a scholarship to the University of Maine, despite never making the Provincial Team until grade 12, and tearing her ACL in one of her first games in grade 12 with the team. Meagan was recently named to the All-Rookie team in the America East Conference after a very successful freshman year.

The Western Canada Soccer Showcase and girlsCAN Soccer are led by elite female players who have played the game at the university, national team and/or professional level, who wish to inspire and educate young female players that have similar aspirations. Players on attending teams for the Western Canada Soccer Showcase are welcomed to the event for free, as a component of the Showcase programming.

Other motivated players from teams not in the Showcase, but who wish to learn more about the college recruiting process, are more than welcome to the College Prep Seminar. The cost for players not on teams for the College Prep Seminar is $69 (including tax). Registrations received before November 20 will receive an early bird rate of $59.
